In this section, we describe the claims process for both hosts and guests, providing a mechanism to address and resolve issues that may arise during the temporary rental experience.
Host Claims:
Problems with Guest:
1. Hosts can claim within 24 hours of the guest's checkout. After this period, the security deposit will have been released to the guest, making claims unavailable.
2. Transaction Suspension: Upon filing a claim, the protocol automatically suspends the transaction, preventing the release of the security deposit.
3. CryptoBed has a Recognition-of-Jurisdiction (aka RoJ) with Kleros. The host has to start a case in https://resolve.kleros.io/
4. Refund Protocol: Kleros court evaluates the claim and, if deemed valid, CryptoBed manually sends the security deposit to the host as reimbursement for the reported issue.
5. Maximum Reimbursement: The total amount of the security deposit serves as the maximum reimbursement the host can receive.
Guest Claims:
Problems with Host:
1. Guests can file a claim within 24 hours of the automated check-in. After this period, the reservation funds will have been released to the host, making claims unavailable.
2. Refund Protocol: Guests have to start a case in https://resolve.kleros.io/, and Kleros court will resolve the dispute.
3. Reimbursement Process: Upon validation of the claim, CryptoBed manually sends the reservation funds back to the guest, ensuring a fair resolution.
